Mixto is more tolerable than previous devices that penetrate more deeply. Damage to the deep tissue is not necessary to stimulate regeneration of tissue. Treatment is safe for darker skin types and is safe for the neck, face, chest and hands. Downtime is about 5 days rather than weeks or months with other lasers. Superficial wrinkles dissapear in one session while deper wrinkles may require 2 sessions spaced about one month apart.Long term side effects are not seen with Mixto resurfacing. It is ideal for vertical lines on the lip which can not be treared with surgery, crows feet and wrinkles on the cheeks.It can also ofter a deeper treatment for acne scars than the nd-yag laser and achieve signifcant improvement in 1-2 sessions for acne scars.
