Green Tea Spray May Prevent Skin Cancer
While green tea may protect against skin cancer tanning beds may be the cause of an increase in Melanoma. A growing number if women 18-35 are being diagnosed with melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. over the past two decades tanning beds have become more popular. Tanning beds emit UVA and UVB rays that may cause more harm than sunlight. Dr. Leadman of the Huntsman Cancer institute has reported that frequent tanning leads to a higher risk of developing melanoma. A study published by the American Cancer Society showed a recent trend that young women are increasing their risk for melanoma. Women who have experienced frequent tanning should be screened for skin cancer. At present that involve a whole body exam and possibly photography. Unfortunately this does not evaluate moles smaller than 6 millimeters. When new screening technology becomes available it will offer a better approach to early diagnosis and treatment of melanomas.
